Burning Ice
Burning Ice diamonds are perfectly cut diamonds produced by EPL Diamond in accordance with the global Hearts and Arrows standard.
History
Hearts and Arrows diamonds emerged in the mid-1980s and quickly gained worldwide recognition as diamonds featuring a truly perfect cut.
The production of Hearts and Arrows diamonds requires the finest rough diamonds and the meticulous craftsmanship of the most skilled master cutters. Only 0.001% of the world’s rough diamonds are suitable to become perfectly cut round brilliant diamonds. Only a few hundred gem cutters worldwide possess the expertise required to achieve this level of precision. Consequently, only a limited number of companies produce genuine Hearts and Arrows diamonds.
EPL Diamond began producing round brilliants meeting the Hearts and Arrows standard in the trademark Burning Ice. Today, Burning Ice represents one of the company’s greatest points of pride and serves as its signature hallmark of excellence.
Description
The defining characteristics of Burning Ice diamonds are the careful selection of rough material and a mathematically calculated cutting model that adheres to ideal proportions and perfect symmetry.
Burning Ice is a guarantee of quality and uniqueness. All diamonds meet excellent standards of color and clarity — at least grade F, meaning the stones are free from yellow tint, free from visible imperfections, and exceptionally transparent.
The precision cut of Burning Ice diamonds ensures maximum possible light reflection from the facets of the brilliant. This distinguishes them dramatically from diamonds cut according to conventional commercial standards.
Burning Ice diamonds reflect up to 98% of light, whereas diamonds with inferior cuts may return as little as 70% of daylight. This difference is visible even to the naked eye and can be clearly distinguished from variations in color or clarity.
The effect of a perfect Hearts and Arrows cut can be easily observed using an IdealScope magnifier. When viewed from above, eight perfectly symmetrical arrows are visible; when viewed from below, eight distinct hearts appear.
The unmatched brilliance of Burning Ice diamonds is regarded as truly unique. In terms of the harmony between brilliance and light performance, perfectly cut Burning Ice diamonds have no equal.
